Born on December 2, 1964, and a graduate of ESSEC business school, Alain Ribat began his career with several positions of responsibility in management, finance and performance development within major French groups: from 1991 to 1998 with Valeo, then with the Carrefour group from 1998 to 2005.
In 2005, he moved to the transport sector and the SNCF Group, where he was in charge of finance for the international operations of GEODIS, then for the courier division.
From 2009 to 2014, he was financial and legal director of the SNCF group's rail and multimodal freight transport division, now known as Rail Logistics Europe. A member of the Fret SNCF comex, he is also a director of several subsidiaries in France and Europe.
In 2014, he became Chairman and CEO of Captrain France, France's 3rd largest rail freight operator with 1,000 employees.
He joined SNCF Voyageurs in 2020 as deputy director of the Transilien business, working alongside Sylvie Charles. In this role, he oversaw major projects, finance and contractual relations with Île-de-France Mobilités, the opening up to competition and the preparation of responses to calls for tender, as well as leading Transilien's transformation.
