Start your visit with Notre-Dame Cathedral and its superb frescoes, then stroll through the medieval district of Petite France before making a detour to the Neustadt, the astonishing German quarter with its well-preserved architecture.     Colmar, the Venice of Alsace

    If you're looking for postcard-perfect scenery, Colmar is the place for you! Cruise the canals of "Little Venice" and admire the half-timbered houses, balcony geraniums and sculpted fountains that make the town famous and give it its typical Alsatian look. But Colmar is more than just a magical stop on the Alsace Wine Route. With the 2016 extension of the Musée Unterlinden, the Haut-Rhin town boasts an impressive cultural heritage.     Munster, a city of character

    Looking for a change of scenery and wilderness? From Colmar, take the TER line to Metzeral and watch the charming villages of the Route des Vins pass by from your window, before escaping for good to the crests of the Hautes Vosges. Nestled in the Fecht valley in the Sud of Alsace, Munster is a city of culture and history, with many fine architectural monuments to admire. But don't forget your walking shoes! In summer, the town is the starting point for numerous hiking trails to the rounded peaks, steep slopes and alpine meadows of the hautes chaumes, home to the marcaires, the farmers who create the recipe for the famous Munster cheese.
